Michael Weiss D.V.M.
Dr. Michael Weiss is a 1988 graduate of the University of Missouri’s College of Veterinary Medicine. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Rutgers University and studied Animal Nutrition at the Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Weiss has extensive experience in emergency medicine & surgery, soft tissue & orthopedic surgery, ultrasound and endoscopy. His experience extends beyond dogs and cats to all exotic pets.
Dr. Weiss has over 20 years’ experience in the area of exotic pet medicine and surgery. He has been an exotic pet medicine & surgery guest lecturer at several major veterinary continuing education conferences both nationally and internationally. Currently, he is also part of the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary Hospital’s Exotic Companion Animal Emergency Services staff.
Dr. Weiss has been featured in People Magazine and Woman’s Day and was selected as one of the Delaware Valley’s “23 Great Vets” by Philadelphia Magazine. He has also been featured on Animal Planet, Extra and American Journal TV shows, as well as Good Day Philadelphia.
His memberships include the American Veterinary Medical Association, Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association, Association of Avian Veterinarians, Association of Exotic Mammal Veterinarians and Association of Reptilian & Amphibian Veterinarians.
Dr. Weiss is currently a resident of Mullica Hill, New Jersey and has two daughters. Lauren, who studied veterinary medicine at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and the University Of Missouri College Of Veterinary Medicine, will become an associate veterinarian at 2nd Street Animal Hospital this fall. Morgan is a graduate of Salisbury University where she studied Community Health.
Dr. Weiss’ interests include triathlon training and racing, vegan lifestyle, boating, open water scuba diving, and travel. He has two Australian Shepherds, a cat, and several parrots.
Dr. Tiffany Azevedo D.V.M.
Tiffany Azevedo D.V.M is a California native and received her bachelor’s degree in integrative biology from UC Berkeley. She subsequently completed her veterinary degree at Michigan State University in 2016. While in veterinary school, Dr. Azevedo was the president of the Student Association of Veterinary Surgery, and on the board of the student chapters of the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society and Association of Shelter Veterinarians. She also completed two business certificates and was a member of the Phi Zeta Honor Society during this time.
Dr. Azevedo has a special interest in surgery, dentistry, exotic pets, and behavior. She is heavily involved in working with rescues and animal shelters and spends a lot of her time fostering animals. Currently, she is also a part of the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary Hospital’s Exotic Companion Animal Emergency Services staff.
Dr. Azevedo currently lives in South Jersey with her four cats (Theia, Kronos, Helios, and Asteria), and her ball python (Jigsaw). Her husband Josh is a PhD in the field of Neuroscience. Her interests include hiking, camping, bird watching, SCUBA diving, playing the piano, baking, scrapbooking, and making all sorts of crafts.
Lauren Robinson-Weiss DVM
Lauren graduated from Kingsway Regional High School in Swedesboro, New Jersey, in 2010. She was a member of the school’s varsity lacrosse team. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Small Animal Science from Delaware Valley College in 2014. Lauren attended Ross University College of Veterinary Medicine and completed her clinical rotations at the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine in 2018. She has special interest in Exotic Animal Medicine & Surgery and general surgery. Lauren resides in Mullica Hill, New Jersey, with her dogs Gracie, Kay and cat Boozie.
Candice Bittner BVetMed, MRCVS
Dr. Bittner is a 2018 graduate of the Royal Veterinary College in London, England. While pursuing her veterinary studies she made time for travel and captained the Women’s Football (soccer) team. Dr. Bittner received her Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Poultry and Avian Sciences from the Pennsylvania State University. While at Penn State she was heavily involved with Penn State Dance Marathon and still supports that organization as well as the football team! Growing up in northeastern Pennsylvania she was heavily involved in 4H and showing horses. She was never without dogs, cats, guinea pigs, lizards, and at one point even sharks. She’s thrilled to be practicing in Philadelphia where she can continue her other hobbies which include running with her dog and good local beer!
